I give you…
“Je te donne tout ce que je vaux, ce que je suis, mes dons, mes défauts, mes plus belles chances, mes différences.” From the song “Je te donne” by Jean-Jacques Goldman
*From a song played during the ceremony. Free translation: I give you everything I’m worth, everything I am, my gifts, my flaws, my best chances, my differences.
John and Jean-François were married in Québec City on June 7th. They chose to bring their loved ones together in an exceptional and historic site, the chapel at the Musée de l’Amérique francophone.
We worked with a few key concepts in planning this event, including shades of purple, elegance without undue formality, and a very festive masculine mood.
The emotional ceremony was officiated by one of their friends. And their musical choices were so original! They included Jean-Jacques Goldman’s beautiful song “Je te donne,” which I now hear in a whole new way.
After the ceremony, the guests were led into the inner courtyard of the Petit Séminaire de Québec where they were served appetizers and champagne. A special table and a meal awaited the youngest of guests. During this time, there was a whole team scurrying around the chapel to prepare the rest of the evening.
A cocktail–dinner reception was held in the chapel. With no table of honour and no place settings to confine guest to a given table, everyone could move about freely and talk with more people. This created a very convivial atmosphere.
And what a party! Here are a few photos that capture this magnificent day.
A huge thank you to all who contributed to making this gorgeous wedding such a success. Special thanks to Daniel Ménard at Fleur Concept, who co-coordinated with me. And, finally, thank you, J + JF, for your trust all through the wedding planning process.
